On Sunday 19th November We hosted a fundraising day to raise money to purchase a Fully Automated Defibrillator.
We had an overwhelming response to this fund raising with several donations and a whole days activities including the Roller Hockey and Bowls tournament and Fitness classes, we also had a refreshment and cake sale and a Grand Draw as well as a donation bucket.
All monies from these went towards the fundraising, as everyone gave up valuable time for free.
We raised a grand total of £3876.82 this will get us a fully automated AED together with adult and paediatric pads and spare battery and a secure cabinet to keep it in. We will also be having training on how to use this.
We'd like to extend special thanks to the Liam Fairhurst Foundation, SOham United Charities,Eastern Counties Roller Hockey Association, all of our Fitness Instructors and to everyone that gave donations of prizes, money and their valuable time as well as all of those that attended on the day. As well as a congratulations to Cottenham Roller Hockey Club (pictured) on their tight victory in the Hockey tournament.
